 About Uma Yogini Radford, Structural Yoga Therapist

Uma has been practising and studying Yoga for about eleven years, taking Initiation with Swami Yogananda into the practise of Japa Mantra Yoga in 2000 and received her Sanskrit name Uma.

She completed her Integral Yoga Beginners Teacher Training in Asana and Pranayama with Sudasi Rodgers in Bath in 2001 and took the intensive Intermediate Teacher Training with Swami Asokananda in Portugal in 2005.

Uma took Childrens Yoga Teacher Training with Jo Manuel at the Life Centre in London, completed in Dec 2005.

She has studied Yoga for Mums & Babies, the Early years, and Families, completed in 2007 and has trained & assisted in the Pregnancy teacher training with Uma Dinsmore-tuli at the Special yoga Centre in 2010.

She has had the great privilege to study and train in Structural and Ayurvedic Yoga therapy with the renowned International Yoga Mentor, Mukunda Stiles, from whom she received Initiation and her name Yogini. She completed training in April 2006, with ongoing mentorship and study with him in the UK and India as a Structural Yoga Therapist and Teacher.

Uma is currently running a studio in Bruton, as well as teaching for Somerset County Council and offering classes and private sessions to all ages and abilities within the community. Over the last 2 years she has travelled annually to India to study Yoga philosophy and attend a Yoga & Ayurvedic International conference.

Uma is a fully qualified Yoga Teacher and Holistic Therapist practising Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Therapeutic massage, Indian Head massage, Thermo Auricular therapy and Structural Yoga therapy.

Uma is a Member of the Integral Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA),  The Representatives of  Exercise Professionals (REP’s),  The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and is fully Certified and Insured.
