Integral Yoga® is a synthesis of the various branches of Yoga and it is described by Swami Satchidananda:
The Various Branches of Integral Yoga® are....
Hatha Yoga Hatha Yoga is pre-dominantly concerned with the physical development, through asanans (posture), pranayama (breath control), mudras (energy locks), kriyas (cleansing techniques), yogic diet and deep relaxation.
Raja Yoga The science of the mind...Predominantly concerned with the control of the mind through following the path of ethical perfection and regular practice on concentration and meditation. Raja Yoga is a practical guide for gaining control over the mind.
Bhakti Yoga By constant love, thought and service of the divine (either God, a divine incarnation or spiritual teacher) the individual transcends the limited personality and attains cosmic consciousness.
Karma Yoga Performing selfless duties without expectation of rewards (verbal or material).
Japa Yoga Japa means the repetition of a mantra. Concentrated mental repetition of a mantra produces vibrations within the individuals entire system, which are in tune with the divine vibration.
Jnana Yoga The intellectual approach. Through the knowledge of what really exists, that is and what is changeable the Jnani Yogi (one who engages in the path of wisdom) realises oneness with the entire universe.
Integral Yoga, as taught by Sri Swami-ji, combines various methods of Yoga including Hatha Yoga, breathing practices and relaxation techniques, selfless service, meditation, prayer, and a 5,000 year old philosophy that helps one to find inner peace and joy.
The practices and principles of Integral Yoga are at the foundation of Dr. Dean Ornish’s landmark work in reversing heart disease and Dr. Michael Lerner’s noted Commonweal Cancer Help program.
He is the author of many books, among them: Integral Yoga Hatha, To Know Yourself, and Beyond Words. He is also the subject of two biographies, Apostle of Peace and Portrait of a Modern Sage.
